Timber Lake to show "Wonder of the World" |
| Timber Lake Playhouse and Artistic Director Brad Lyons proudly invite you to the final production of the season, "Wonder of the World!" The area premiere of the hysterical new Broadway comedy that had New York critics raving rolls onto the main stage from August 12 through August 21. Written by New York's hottest comic playwright, David Lindsay-Abaire (Fuddy Meers), this is the story of a woman named Cass who, after discovering a secret about her husband, decides to take control of her life by running away to Niagara Falls. Wacky adventures ensue as Cass encounters a suicidal drunk, some suspicious detectives and a strange caper involving a giant jar of peanut butter, all of which pushes her close to the water's edge Artistic Director Brad Lyons directs his third show of the season after the powerful "Hair" and the terrifying "Voices in the Dark". As I first read this play, I laughed out loud at every page," he said. "I knew I had to bring it to Timber Lake!" And Mr. Lyons has hired the perfect cast to toss you over the edge in a barrel...of laughter! Returning for one show only Sarah Ball, who brought down the house last summer as Lina Lamont in "Singin' in the Rain" and as Amanda in "Private Lives". Audiences will have one more chance to be dazzled by the unforgettable Evan Enderle, who has already entertained audiences this season with roles such as Gus, the Theatre Cat, in "Cats", Junior in "Dearly Departed", Margaret Mead in "Hair", and Owen in "Voices in the Dark". Also returning for one show only is John Knight, who has been featured in many Timber Lake productions including "The Crucible, Dial "M" for Murder", and "Laughter on the 23rd Floor". And this is a great chance to see veteran TLP comedienne Nicole Mattis, who had people rolling in the aisles in 1998's "Funny Money". The charming Courtney Crouse, currently Billy Crocker in the smash hit "Anything Goes", continues to delight in "Wonder of the World". And Amanda Hendricks, star of this year's "Voices in the Dark", takes on multiple roles in this rollicking comedy. Rounding out the cast is the captivating Katy Sullivan, who most recently appeared in 2002's "Picasso at the Lapin Agile" and "Footloose!". Individual tickets are just $15, with a special reduced rate for groups of 12 or more. "Wonder of the World" runs from August 12th through August 21st.
