Anonymous Donor sends check for Toys for Kids

Thecity1.com received a generous check for the Toys for Kids campaign on December17, 2004 as a result of the stolen campaign donation can at a local restaurant in late November.

Pictured is Roy Velde, local Toys for Kids campaign chairman receiving the check from Bob Vaughn, Publisher and Owner of Thecity1.com "Morrison Online". The donor wished to remain anonymous and Mr. Velde stated he will respect that person's wishes and accepted the check.

Thecity1.com ran a story in late November regarding a "Toys for Kids" donation can from a local restaurant being stolen and the donor wished to demonstrate their desire to ensure Morrison area needy children would enjoy a better Christmas thru the efforts of Mr. Velde's group.Mr. Velde is confident the toys needed will be purchased and that several area businesses have really come forward to help with the campaign as well as many volunteers."Merry Christmas" to the anonymous donor Mr Velde stated and "Merry Christmas" to all of the area needy chilcren who's Christmas will be made just a little more special.
