Police Reports 12-20-04

On 12-17-04, at approximately 9:35 a.m., Morrison Police investigated a two-car accident on Route #30 near Five Star Enterprises. A westbound car driven by Ismel Akiti, 43, Clinton, was stopped in traffic, when another westbound car, driven by Adeline R. Port, 79, Sterling, struck the rear of the Akiti car. There were no injuries as a result of the collision. Both vehicles received damage in excess of $500. Port was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. Port is considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

On 12-18-04, at approximately 12:42 a.m., Morrison Police charged Keelan M. Hester, 17, Eric E. Nelson, 18, and Ryan W. Belcher, 18, with unlawful possession of alcoholic beverages. In addition to those charges, Hester was charged with unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, and Belcher was charged with unlawful consumption of an alcoholic beverage. The three were charged after officers stopped the Hester vehicle at the intersection of Route #78 and Route #30. All three were subsequently released on Notices to Appear in Court. Hester, Nelson, and Belcher are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
