SLM International ribbon cutting




Morrison Chamber of Commerce members held a ribbon cutting Wednesday afternoon, December 8, 2004, at SLM International

Sawong (Boone) and Saowapak (Suki) Sukboriboon bought the old Maurits and Jost building on the corner of Main and Cherry Streets as an investment property but when a renter could not be found Boone and Suki decided to start their own business.

SLM International carries many unique, out of the ordinary gifts including purses in all sizes, teas, stuffed animals, pictures, sunglasses, hair ribbons and ties, lamps and many, many more novelty items. Exclusive items include custom-made Thailand jewelry. Glass cases house an abundance of neatly displayed brooches. They also carry earrings, necklaces, rings and bracelets.

The Sukboriboon’s live in Shabbona and also have a Tia Restaurant in DeKalb, IL.

Those present for the ribbon cutting were: Bob Vaughn, Chamber President; Boone and Suki; Chamber members Phil Wilkens; Alice Senior; Sandy Prescott; Ruth Gundlach; RoAnn Porter Chamber Executive Secretary; and John Miller, Chamber member.
