Morrison Chamber thanks Parade Goers and Participants |
|
| This past Thursday evening December 2, Morrison experienced it's most well attended Christmas Walk and Parade with the most parade entries ever at over 40 and over 25 window entries. The theme "Memories are Made in Morrison" was represented well in many floats and walking units in conjunction with our Sesquicentennial year 2005. There was a December chill in the air but hardly mattered to the many who enjoyed the warm welcomes in many downtown businesses serving hot drinks and cookies and the fun and excitement provided by the variety of parade participants. From a goat named "Willow" to a smoke belching beast float and horses and dogs and kazoos to kids and parents and new and old vehicles it was a parade representing the best of our community. Who couldn't marvel at the line of parents with excited children standing a block long waiting to visit with Mr. and Mrs Santa. The Morrison Chamber of Commerce is thankful to the city, all of the businesses and organizations participating and to all who attended that makes this annual event a great way to start our season a little brighter. There are many deserved people to thank however we wish to reserve a special dual thank you to two people, Kathy Fredericks who served this event so well for so many years and to Alice Senior at Community State Bank who did so much on this year's event only to be unexpectedly called away the day before and was not able to enjoy the fruits of her labor. Next time you see Alice (or her sidekick Bobbie Jo) let her know what kind of job she did. We wish each and every Morrisonite a healthy and prosperous holiday season!
