A stream of court house employees, law enforcement officers, judges, family, and friends filed into Northside Country Inn to congratulate Jane Fransen on her years of service and wish her good luck in her retirement. Jane retired from the Circuit Clerk’s office on Friday, November 19, 2004.
She began working for the Clerk’s office in 1976. She was appointed Circuit Clerk in 1986 and was elected in 1988.
“It has really been a privilege and honor to serve the people of Whiteside County. I will miss my Circuit Clerk family. Not just working with them, but knowing them and their families. It is kind of scary, my life, that is I have to almost reinvent my life. I need to find my passion,” Jane stated.
Jane and husband, Larry, are planning a trip to Arizona this winter.
“I am really looking forward to be able to spend more time with Larry and our children and grandchildren now,” said Jane.
Jane and Larry’s children include three daughters, Julia Sotelo, of Los Alametos, CA; Jan and Mark Renkes of Fulton and Laura and Jeff Arthur of Plainfield, IL. They also have seven grandchildren: Ashley Sotelo, Tyler and Erik Renkes, Seth and Bailey Stillman, and Avery and Campbell Arthur.
