Drolema's bring true spirit to the Season with donation |
|
| Mitch and Arnie Drolema are well known in Morrison and Northern Illinois for the "Asylum of MAD Dreams", their popular spook house.Shown in this photo, they were anything but scary. Mitch and Arnie donated a very generous check to Co-Chairman Bob Vaughn of the Morrison Sesquicentennial Committee on November 18, 2004 which was the entire donations from their Halloween Parade open house for kids. The spook house continues to grow in popularity drawing visitors from the area as well as out of state. The two "spooky guys" are also announcing that they are going to be open for well lighted tours of the Asylum the evening of the Morrison Chamber of Commerce Christmas Walk and Parade, Thursday December 2, from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm. The Asylum is located on the West end of Main Street just South of the Post Office on Orange Street. They say many older (and young) people have a curiosity about their spook house and are either shy or possibly scared about coming thru to see all of the animated displays. Mitch and Arnie have worked for several years to perfect one of the scariest spook houses in the Midwest and there are some very intricate pneumatic devices. The tours are free, open to the public and donations will be accepted and all of these donations will be again donated to the Morrison Sesquicentennial Committee.Doorprizes will be offered and again no purchase necessary. This is a unique and one time opportunity to walk thru and enjoy at your leisure one of Morrison's hidden treasures. Arnie promises he won't turn out the lights...maybe. When not scaring people, Mitch and Arnie own and operate Yarbrough Appliances, which also just happens to be one of Morrison's Golden Businesses, being in business over 50 years! by Bob Vaughn, theCity1.com |
