Police Reports 11-15-04

On 11-08-04, at approximately 2:42 p.m., Morrison Police investigated a two-vehicle accident on East Lincolnway near Scenic Drive. A truck driven by Larry R. Vanderlaan, 56, Morrison, was eastbound on Lincolnway, stopped in traffic, when a car driven by Peter M. Ororke Jr., 20, Amboy, Illinois, struck the rear of the Vanderlaan truck. The airbag in Ororke’s vehicle deployed as a result of the collision. Vanderlaan reported minor injuries but declined treatment at the scene. Total damage to both vehicles exceeded $500. Ororke was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. Ororke is considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. The Ororke vehicle had to be towed from the scene.

On 11-12-04, at approximately 4:42 p.m., Morrison Police investigated a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of West Lincolnway and North Base Street. A car driven by Jill R. Bauscher, 21, Clinton, was westbound entering the intersection, when the Bauscher vehicle was struck by a southbound car driven by Trista A. Bielema, 19, Morrison. Bielema was treated at the scene by Morrison Ambulance personnel, and was later transported by private vehicle to Morrison Hospital for treatment of minor injuries. Total damage to both vehicles exceeded $500. Bielema was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. Bielema is considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. The Bauscher vehicle had to be towed from the scene.
