Morrison Police Department news Release 10-25-04

The Police Department would like to remind residents that burning is allowed on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays during daylight hours only. Only yard waste can be burned, and burning may not be done in an enclosed container. Please do not burn on city right-of-way.

On 10-23-04, at approximately 3:30 am, Morrison Police investigated a hit and run accident in the parking lot of Hilltop Lanes bowling alley, 629 East Lincolnway. A car owned by Brian K. Drehmer, Morrison, was struck by an unknown vehicle some time earlier in the morning. Morrison Police are asking for any information regarding this accident from anyone who may have possibly witnessed this crash. The Drehmer vehicle sustained less than $500 damage.

With the approach of snowy weather, the Morrison Police Department would like to remind residents that snow emergencies may be declared by the Superintendant of Public Services any time conditions warrant, from November 1 through March 31.During snow emergencies, the City of Morrison enforces no parking on uncleared Snow Routes, as well as odd-even parking on streets other than Snow Routes.You may obtain a copy of the City of Morrison parking regulations Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:00am and 4:00pm (at City Hall, ed.)
