Fall Harvest Fair

A special fund raiser for Heritage Canyon will be held October 16 and 17th. The Fall Harvest Fair will be held at the Spring Valley farm of Marc and Catherine Gravert. Hours are Saturday, October 16th from 10 a.m. until 9 p.m. and Sunday, October 17 from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m.

The Early American Crafters, the volunteer support group for Heritage Canyon, will be hosting an old fashioned type Harvest Fair at Spring Valley Farm, 21919 Hillside Road, Fulton, Illinois. (Watch for signs on Route 30 west of Morrison, and Route 84 north of Fulton, then follow signs) The proceeds from this event will be used for much-needed repairs and projects at Heritage Canyon. Heritage Canyon is a lovely reproduction Historic Village Museum in Fulton, Illinois.

This fun filled weekend offers something for everyone. There will be games for the children along with face painting and a farm petting zoo. There will be horse and tractor drawn wagon rides; Antique Tractors and antique tractor field demonstrations; and horseshoe pitching complete with a contest. Throw your voice into the husband and wife calling contest or buy a ticket for the cakewalk to win a delicious home made cake. Try your hand at the rock toss contest or find just the perfect gift in the craft booth.

Come early and stay awhile. There is something going on all day, both days. A lunch stand will be serving hot dogs and bar-b-ques along with cookies, brownies, nachos with cheese, caramel covered apple slices and more.

On Saturday night there will be a campfire sing-a-long with the Glory Bound Band lending the music. Join in the music, buy a hot dog to cook over the fire and hop on the moonlight wagon ride to finish the day.

Admission: 12 and older $4.00- Under 12 $2.00 – children 3 and under are free. Admission includes all contests, wagon rides, petting zoo, antique tractor demonstrations and lots of fun. Food, some games, cakewalk and face painting cost extra. Parking is available on the site.
