2004 Year in Review

Sheriff & Mounted Patrol Fishing Derby Results

The Whiteside County Sheriff’s Office and Mounted Patrol held their 2004 Youth Fishing Derby on Saturday, September 11 with 275 children registered. The event was held at Rockwood State Park.

Category winners are:

Large Mouth Bass: Madison Steines, age 5, Morrison, Open Draw; Hanna Gaffey, 10, Morrison, 14 ¼ inches; Skyler Bethel, 12, Morrison, Open Draw.

Walleye-Muskie: Drew Schroeder, 5, Sterling, Open Draw; Nick Johnson, 12, Morrison, Open Draw; Derrik Meinsma, 13, Morrison, Open Draw.

Catfish: Jasmine Wright, 4, Milledgeville, 13 ¼ inches; Liz Buckwalter, 8, Morrison, 10 3/8 inches; Nick VanderVinne, 13, Morrison, 20 ¼ inches.

Bluegill-Sunfish: Jonathon Dyson, 5, Albany, 8 inches; Danelle Domdy, 11, Fulton, 9 inches; Emily Cox, 14, Clinton, IA, 8 inches.

Crappie: Dylan Houzenga, 4, Fulton, 9 7/8 inches; John Widener, Fulton, 9 1/8 inches; Ben Perry, Milan, 8 ¾ inches.

SPECIAL AWARDS

Butch Kimmel and Bud Lattimer Memorial: Megan McCullough, 12, Erie.

Shane Hurless Memorial – Kids who tired the hardest: Dayton Schroeder, 7, Sterling and Holly Johnson, 7, Morrison.

Al Humphry Memorial: Natalie Benda, 12, Morrison and Andrew Connelly, 9, Morrison.

William Carney Memorial: Jamie Hill, 13, Morrison.
