Obituary per Bosma-Renkes Funeral Homes, Ltd. Barbara A. Vandermyde, 70, 617 North Orange Street, Morrison, wife of Dr. Richard Vandermyde, passed away Tuesday, September 14, 2004 in C.G.H. Medical Center, Sterling. A memorial service will be held Sunday, September 19 at 3 p.m. in the First Presbyterian Church, Morrison. Rev. Dr. James A. Camp, pastor, will officiate. Organist will be Bill Garrison and vocalist will be Diki Bull. Cremation rites have been accorded. Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Barbara Nadel was born October 2, 1933 in Oak Park, IL the daughter of William and Ruth (Jindra) Nadel. She graduated from Morton High School in Cicero, IL. She then graduated from the Presbyterian School of Nursing in Chicago. She married Dr. Richard C. Vandermyde on August 28, 1954 in Cicero. She worked for the Presbyterian Hospital in Chicago and the Swedish American Hospital in Rockford. She then became a homemaker, staying at home to raise their four boys. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Morrison and the P.E.O. She served on the board of the Hospice of the Rock River Valley. Survivors include her husband, four sons, Mark (Debra) Vandermyde, Forsyth, IL, William Vandermyde, Morris, IL, Steven (Margaret) Vandermyde, St. Charles, IL and Scott Vandermyde, Chicago; six grandchildren, Rachel, Cara, Raime, Lucas, Emily and Garrett Vandermyde.
