Morrison Fest Car Show |
|
|
Many of us can nostalgically remember summer nights when everyone gathered on Main Street to socialize. Morrison Fest’s Car Show in downtown Morrison last Saturday evening brought out the crowds and the socializing but also brought out some of the Morrison areas classic cars. The only thing missing was the old-fashioned popcorn machine. The low-budget show, free to any area car owners gave out five donated awards and also donated door prizes. Best of Show went to Albert (Sparkie) and Cheryl Forster with their restored orange ‘69 Ford Mustang. Peoples Choice and Best Mopar was given to Randy Heide for his recently restored white ‘70 Plymouth Superbird with the tall rear wing. Best Chevy went to a ’59 Chevy Impala owned by Bill Duncan and Matt Huizenga’s ’77 Ford F-350 received Best Ford. Many thanks to volunteers Ron and Todd Weimer for bringing back the annual event after a year’s absence and to all the businesses that donated door prizes. According to Todd, they are hoping to put on a bigger and better show during the Sesquicentennial in 2005. They want more cars, more prizes, and new sponsors.
