Morrison Police Report 07-12

On 07-07-04, at approximately 10:30 p.m., Morrison Police arrested a 17-year-old at the intersection of Base and Main Streets. The subject was arrested on a Whiteside County Circuit Court issued juvenile warrant, ordering the detention of the subject. The suspect was subsequently incarcerated at the Whiteside County Law Enforcement Center pending an appearance before a judge.

On 07-10-04, at approximately 2:41 a.m., Morrison Police arrested Trent J. Johnson, 20, Morrison, on charges of criminal trespass to a residence, unlawful consumption of an alcoholic beverage, and resisting a police officer. Johnson was arrested after a resident at 713 West Park Street reported that an intoxicated male (Johnson) had entered the house. Johnson was subsequently located by officers at the intersection of West Park and Larch Streets. After being treated at Morrison Hospital for minor facial injuries received prior to the incident, Johnson was incarcerated in the Whiteside County Law Enforcement Center pending an appearance before a judge. Bond was subsequently set at $10,000. Johnson is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

On 07-10-04, at approximately 11:30 p.m., Morrison Police arrested Ross A. Fredricks, 29, Morrison, on four counts of reckless conduct, four counts of disorderly conduct, and one count of criminal trespass to a residence. Fredricks was charged after police were called to 402 East Main Street in response to an individual who ignited a fire at the residence and threw camp-stove fuel at several juveniles. Fredricks was subsequently transported to the Whiteside County Law Enforcement Center where he was later released on $100 cash bond. Police are continuing the investigation into this incident. Fredricks is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

On 07-11-04, at approximately 1:47 a.m., Morrison Police investigated a motorcycle-SUV accident at the intersection of Main and Orange Streets. A westbound motorcycle, driven by Donald R. Prestley, 51, Morrison, struck the rear of a westbound SUV driven by Paxton M. DeGroot, 30, Morrison. Prestley was transported to the Morrison Hospital by Morrison Ambulance. He was then transferred to Mercy North in Clinton where he was subsequently admitted. The motorcycle was a total loss. The SUV received damages in excess of $500. Police are continuing the investigation into this incident.
