The combined Morrison Presbyterian and United Methodist Sunday Schools celebrate their first successful year with a hayrack ride.
|
Because of declining Sunday School enrollments in both Morrison Presbyterian and United Methodist churches; they combined classes and changed their format this year. They celebrated the end of their first successful combined year by having a hayrack ride and party at Northside School on Sunday, May 23.
Preschool and Kindergarten combined along with 1st-2nd, 3rd-4th, & 5th-6th. The four groups rotated between classes in art, food, drama, and games, all concentrating on one subject during a four-week period. Each class was taught at their level.
The Sunday Schools have used both facilities and teachers but also incorporated talents from members of the churches. “It has worked out well,” Darlene Smith of UMC explained. “We have a committee that meets with the pastors to plan activities.” They plan to combine again next year.
