At approximately 9:22 p.m. Morrison Police arrested Jeff D. Groenwald, 30, Morrison on a charge of Domestic Battery. Groenwald was arrested after police were called to 314 North Jackson Street in response to a disturbance. Groenwald was subsequently transported to the Whiteside County Law Enforcement Center where he was held pending an appearance before a judge. Groenwald is considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

At approximately 4:30 p.m., Morrison Police arrested Christopher P. Greenwalt, 22, Tucson, AZ, for operating a motor vehicle without a valid driver’s license. Greenwalt was charged after police stopped his vehicle in the 700 block of West Lincolnway. Greenwalt is considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

At approximately 10:57 a.m., Morrison Police investigated a two-vehicle accident in the 200 block of West Main Street. A car driven by Marna B. Geerts, 48, Morrison, was westbound on Main Street, when a van driven by Cheryl M. Harridge, 39, Morrison backed into the Geerts vehicle. There were no injuries. The total damage to both vehicles was in excess of $500. Harridge was cited for improper backing. Harridge is considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

At approximately 11:57 a.m., Larry J. Vos, owner of Fluff and Fold Laundromat, reported that a light in the Laundromat had been damaged some time the previous night.

At approximately 10:25 a.m. Amy C. Koser, Morrison, reported that cash had been taken from her purse while it was in her vehicle. The theft occurred some time the previous night while the Koser vehicle was parked behind 207 West Wall Street.

At approximately 11:39 p.m., Morrison Police arrested Nelson T. Grismore, 19, Nicholas A. Cross, 17, and a 15-year-old juvenile, all from Morrison, for unlawful consumption of an alcoholic beverage. The three were arrested after police investigated a group of young people standing on the corner of Clinton and Main Streets. All three were subsequently transported to the Whiteside County Law Enforcement Center. Grismore and Cross were released on notices to appear. The juvenile was released to the custody of a parent. All three are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

At approximately 11:10 a.m., Morrison Police investigated a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of Cherry and Wall Streets. A car driven by Jennifer G. VenHuizen, 16, Morrison, was making a left turn through the intersection, and then the VenHuizen car was struck by a westbound vehicle driven by Brian J. Stephenson, 26, Morrison. There were no injuries as a result of the crash. Total damage to both vehicles exceeded $500. Stephenson was cited for failure to yield at a stop intersection. Stephenson is considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
