Cause of Porter fire undetermined

Fire destroyed Porter home on Lyndon Rd.

The fire marshal could not pinpoint a cause of the fire Wednesday morning, May 19, at the residence of Dan Porter, 20019 Lyndon Rd.

According to fire chief, Bill Conboy, Morrison Fire Department received the call at 1:24 a.m. Upon arrival firefighters found the two-story house totally engulfed. No one was home at the time of the fire. A passerby reported the fire by cell phone.

Mutual aid was called in from Milledgeville and Coleta Fire Department for tankers. Firefighters were on the scene until approximately 7 a.m. to be assured that the fire would not rekindle.
