Cottonwood 4-H Club of Morrison chose the theme of animals for their 2003-04 year. Tours of farms, donations to animal related charities, and talks on animals by the members have been the focus for the club. For their May meeting members toured Jim and Vicki Workman’s farm on Henry Road. Workman’s unusual hobby includes alpacas and miniature horses.

The members were able to pet the soft fur of the alpacas while Jim and Vicki corralled the animals, answered questions, and explained their hobby. Another focus of the tour was their three-week-old miniature horse.

The next project for the club will be to have a bake sale on Saturday, June 12, with the Mason’s pork chop sale. The donations will go to Happy Tails Animal Shelter.
