Sophomore must pay for PSAT test

Sophomores who want to take the PSAT exam in October should submit the $11 fee to Mrs. Johannsen by May 25th. Depending on their scores from this test, next year's juniors may qualify to be National Merit Scholars.

Parents who are interested in enrolling their child in remedial summer school courses at Sterling High School and Sauk Community College may contact Mrs. Johannsen in the guidance office for information.

College-bound juniors are encouraged to take campus tours during the summer break. Many colleges have early application deadlines of November 15th and December 1st. Students who apply early often get their first choice of campus housing and are automatically in the pool of prospective scholarship recipients.

College-bound student athletes who want to apply for NCAA eligibility must take the ACT test at a national test site. Students may log on to ncaaccleainghouse.net and www.act.org
