Morrison Police Report 5-10-04

5/4/04
At approximately 12:26 pm, Morrison Police investigated a three-vehicle accident in the 400 block of East Lincolnway. A car driven by Jason A. Akker, 18, Morrison, was stopped to make a left turn into a driveway, eastbound. A second vehicle driven by Douglas E. Bush, 59, Morrison, stopped behind the rear of the Akker vehicle. A third car driven by Larry A. Oudekerk, 45, Morrison, struck the rear of the Bush vehicle. The impact then shoved the Bush vehicle into the rear of the Akker vehicle. Bush received minor injuries but declined treatment at the scene. Total damage to all vehicles exceeded $500. There were no citations issued.

5/6/04
At approximately 3:05 pm, Morrison Police investigated a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of Wall and Cherry Streets. A car driven by Marion L. Deets, 84, Morrison, was southbound on Cherry Street, when the Deets car was struck by an eastbound pick-up, driven by Keith H. Huff, 52, Fulton. A passenger in the Deets car was transported to the Morrison Community Hospital by Morrison Ambulance where she was treated for injuries received in the accident. Both vehicles received in excess of $500 damage. Huff was cited for failure to yield at a stop intersection Huff is considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

5/9/04
Morrison Police charged Rex Given Jr., 43, Morrison, with one count of battery. Given was charged after an investigation into a fight at the Northside Country Inn during the early morning hours of March 7. Given was subsequently released on a notice to appear in court. Given is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
