MHS Prom Court announced

Morrison High School Prom Court was announced, changed, and renounced under controversy this week. The school announced seniors: Britta Bartels, Kelsey Dykema, Lindsey Morgan, Candi Rieck, Aimee Wagenecht, Dan Brewer, Adam Kophamer, Joe Mills, Brady Popkins, and Josh Sanchez. Junior attendants are Danielle Millnes and Marcus Hill.

The schools administration decided to remove two members of the Prom Court but the students protested. Students drafted a petition of reasons why the students should be included in the court. The matter was brought before a review panel. Dr. Ware announced at an assembly Thursday all the original students would be included in the court but next year’s Enlightener (rules) would be changed to define extra-curricular activities more clearly.

Currently students caught with alcohol are not allowed to participate in extra-curricular activities. The students argued Prom is not an extra-curricular activity.

The Grand March at Morrison High School Auditorium will commence at 5:00 pm. Dinner will be served at Kapp’s in Rock Falls at 7:00 pm and the dance will take place between 8:00 and 11:00 pm.

Post Prom sponsored by the Junior Class parents ends at 3:00 am. Activities will take place at Morrison High School.
