Millikan Drive

Valley Drive to be renamed Millikan

Morrison has two Valley Drives, one is off Jackson Street and the other off Ridgewood Drive. Morrison City Council votes Monday night to change the one off Ridgewood Drive to Millikan Street. Aldermen were concerned emergency vehicles could go to the wrong street. No one lives on the Valley Drive so it does not affect addresses.

Robert A. Millikan, born in Morrison in 1868, went on to win the Noble Prize for Physics in 1923 and author several books. Millikan only lived in Morrison for a short period of time but is noted in his biography.
