MHS Key Club wins Single Service Award

Six Morrison High School Key Clubbers attended the 54th Annual Illinois Eastern Iowa Key Club Convention held March 26 – 28th, 2004, at Pheasant Run in St. Charles. The generous support of Morrison Kiwanis, student fundraising, and individual student contributions made this all possible.

MHS Key Clubbers attending were:

Merrie Bunt, 2003-04 Lt. Governor of Division 13 of the I-I District. Merrie is a senior at MHS and has been an active Key Clubber since her freshman year.

Katie Bunt, MHS Key Club Vice-president for 2004-05. Katie will be a senior and has been an active member of the Key Club since her freshman year.

Brianna Tichler, MHS Key Club Statistical Secretary for 2004-05. Brianna will be a junior and has been an active member of Key Club since her freshman year.

Morrison High School Key Club was awarded 1st Place for its Single Service Report. A qualifying single service project is defined as a club service project, planned, organized and produced by the Key Club occurring on a single day.

The MHS Key Club reported its 5th Annual Student Blood Drive held February 10, 2004, for award consideration. Application for this award was submitted in honor of Amanda Connerly, a fellow Key Clubber, who lost her life in a fatal auto accident last summer.

Their 1st Place Single Service Award report form will be forwarded to Key Club International for competition at the Key Club International Convention to be held in St. Louis, Missouri, July 3-7, 2004.

Kelly Oudekerk, the MHS Key Club President for 2003-04, was awarded a Distinguished President certificate at this year’s convention. (Article submitted by Kristine Burke-Bielema, Advisor)
