5K Run/Walk at Rockwood May 22

On a warm spring day there is nothing better than driving out to Rockwood State Park and walking through the campgrounds. The Whiteside County Soil & Water Conservation District must agree because on May 22 they are sponsoring a 5K Run/Walk through the Park.

The scenic run/walk begins and ends at the Pavilion. The course winds its way through the three camping area. Awards will be given in 6 age categories, male and female, 1st-3rd places. Participants each receive T-shirt along with refreshments and snacks.

Applications are available at some businesses around town and the banks. Entry fees are $15 before May 14 and $18 thereafter. Packets may be picked up between 8:00 am and 4:00 pm on Friday, May 21, at the Whiteside County Soil and Water Conservation District Office, 16255 Liberty Street, Morrison or the day of the race. Proceeds benefit the Whiteside County Soil and Water Conservation & Education Fund. Super Wash is sponsoring the event.

Even though the brochure features a fishing clinic that day, it will not be held.
