September Bears to be performed at High School

A Northwestern College theatre troupe from Orange City, Iowa, will present the play September Bears at 7 pm Friday, March 5, at Morrison High School Auditorium. The one-hour play is based on September 11.The show enjoyed runs Off-Broadway and at St. Paul’s Chapel near Ground Zero.

The play, based on reality, tells the story of Manhattan schoolteacher Sue Laucarelli and how her church provided over 60,000 huggable teddy bears to New York children and volunteers after September 11. Playwright Jeff Barker also directs the production.

Former Morrison student, Elizabeth Zurn, is featured in the cast. The free production is sponsored by the Morrison Brethren in Christ Church.
