One-vehicle accident involving Morrison teens |

At 9:05 pm Saturday February 28, 2004, Whiteside County Sheriff’s Department investigated a one-vehicle traffic crash on Blue Goose Road south of Hazel Road. A car driven by Ashley Willey, 18 of Morrison, was southbound when she lost control, skidded into the ditch, through a fence, and rolled several times before coming to rest on its wheels in a field. Willey was uninjured as was passenger Casey J. Tiesman, 17 of Morrison. Three passengers: Leanne K. Smith, 18, Lindsey M. Huizenga, 17, and Jennifer M. Brands, 19, all of Morrison, were taken to CGH Medical Center in Sterling for treatment of injuries. Brands was admitted for minor injuries while the others were treated and released. Willey was cited by the Sheriff’s Department for Disobeying a Stop Sign, Too Fast for Conditions, and Unlawful Consumption of Liquor as a Minor. She was released on a Notice to Appear in Morrison Court at a later date. During the investigation Whiteside County Sheriff’s Department arrested the following individuals for Unlawful Consumption of Alcohol as a minor: Casey J. Tiesman, 17, Leanne K. Smith, 18, and Jennifer M. Brands, 19, all of Morrison. All were released on Notice to Appear in Morrison Court at a later date. Morrison Ambulance and Rick’s Towing of Morrison assisted the deputies. All individuals are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. by Editor, theCity1.com |
