Benson wins MJHS Spelling Contest

M-O-S-A-I-C was correctly spelled by Michael Benson (son of Eric and Mary Benson) to win the Morrison Junior High School Spelling Challenge on February 23. Twenty-seven students from 6th – 8th grade participated in the Challenge.

Benson and second place winner Trisha Beswick will represent Morrison in the County Spelling Bee Saturday, March 20, 10:00 am, at Morrison Junior High School. Alternate Charlie Dennehey will represent Morrison if Beswick or Benson cannot attend. The winner of the County Bee goes on to Washington D.C. for the national spelling contest.

Judges were MJHS teachers John Frame, Sara Tenboer, and Chris Michel. Moderator and announcer for the event was MJHS principal Steve Wroble.
