Morrison Police Report 2-23-04

2/19/04
At approximately 7:45 am, Morrison Police investigated a two-car accident in the 600 block of West Lincolnway. A westbound car driven by Angela K. Strobbe, 23, Morrison, was stopped to make a left turn. The Strobbe vehicle was struck in the rear by a westbound car driven by Leigh Houseman-Birdsell, 29, Clinton, Iowa.

Houseman-Birdsell and a passenger in the Strobbe vehicle received minor injuries but declined treatment at the scene. Total vehicle damages were in excess of $500. Houseman-Birdsell was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. Houseman- Birdsell is considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

2/21/04
At approximately 9:35 pm, Morrison Police arrested a 16-year-old juvenile for theft of a motor vehicle and operating a vehicle in violation of a restricted driving permit. The juvenile was stopped in the 400 block of East Main Street after police received a report that the vehicle the juvenile was driving had been stolen in Sterling. The juvenile driver was detained by police and subsequently transported to the Sleezer Youth Home in Freeport, Illinois. A 15-year-old passenger was also detained and subsequently released to the custody of a parent.

2/22/04
At approximately 8:15 am, Morrison Police investigated a hit and run accident at the intersection of Towne and Grape Streets. A pick-up owned by Jedediah L. Renkes, Morrison, was struck by a vehicle some time during the night. The impact pushed the Renkes truck over the curb.

Morrison Police subsequently cited Christopher Ardapple-Ehman, 25, Morrison, with failure to give information after striking an unattended motor vehicle. There were no injuries as a result of the crash. Total damage to both vehicles exceeded $500. Ardapple-Ehman is considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
