4-H Memories in Mortar |
|
| Do you know someone who contributed to your 4-H experience? Maybe someone who had a lasting influence on your life. 4-H is building a brick wall of memories at the Whiteside County Fairgrounds. The Whiteside County 4-H Support Fund is inviting individuals, families, organizations, and the general public to participate in their first annual “Brick Drive”. The wall will be built outside the southeast side of the Agricultural building. The drive began February 1 and continues through March 15, 2004. With the help of 4-H clubs and volunteer leaders, they hope to have their “Memories in Mortar” installed and ready for viewing at the Whiteside County 4-H Show in July 2004. An 18 x 6 foot wall will contain 4” x 8” bricks in peach/buff tones donated by any person or organization that submits an order by March 15. Following the first installation this summer, further orders will be taken so that the “Memories in Mortar can be an ongoing way to recognize the impact of 4-H in Whiteside County. Each brick can have three lines of engraving with a maximum of thirteen letters per line, including spaces, and will cost $50.00. For information call the Whiteside County Extension at 100 East Knox Street, Morrison.
