Every year Kay Hood, of K. Brandau Designs, volunteers her time and talents to helping others learn the art of flower arranging. She has been especially involved with 4-H by judging the Whiteside 4-H Show and giving classes and demonstrations on the rules to a balanced arrangement.
In January she taught two 4-H groups. Genesee Hillbillies and Cottonwood 4-H Clubs arranged clinics in her downtown shop. They each made a vase arrangement with a variety of silk spring wildflowers in a tin vase.
Karen Atkinson, the Whiteside County 4-H advisor, is also planning a class with Kay for 4-H members on Saturday, March 13. For more information call the extension office at 772-2016.
