Heritage Canyon Valentine’s Tea

The third in a series of Winter Tea’s will take place on February 14th at 1:30pm in the Lower Parlor of the Wierenga House at Heritage Canyon in Fulton, Illinois.

Do you need a break from winter? Would you like “Calgon” to take you away? This Tea might be just what you need. The program, entitled “Pamper Yourself for Valentines” will be a look into beauty aids from the past. During this Tea you will learn how to keep your skin soft and your face wrinkle free the old fashioned way. Learn about shampoos and rinses and how to soothe those tired eyes. You will even be able to try out historic facials and make your own bath salts to take home with you.

The parlor will be decorated for Valentine’s with lots of old fashioned charm and as usual, there will be a host of delicious finger foods and hot drinks presided over by the Early American Crafters, authentically attired in Victorian style.

Though this Tea will be just as elegant as the others, we encourage guests to come in casual attire and if they desire, to participate in the program. This is the perfect chance to nibble a bon-bon and relax as you pamper yourself for an afternoon.

The cost is a ten-dollar donation at the door and includes the program, food and fun but as seating is limited, please call 815-589-2838 and leave your name, phone number, and the number of people attending to reserve your seats.

Heritage Canyon is a lovely open-air 1800’s village museum at 515 North Fourth Street in Fulton, Illinois. Though the village is closed for the winter, the fun continues with more teas and upcoming classes.
