Morrison Police Report |

On 1/15/04, at approximately 7:28 am, Morrison Police were called to the Morrison Institute of Technology Dormatory in response to the discovery of a deceased student. A subsequent investigation by the Police Department, and a post-mortem examination conducted by a Rockford Pathologist, determined that Nathan Bray, 19, of LaHarpe Illinois, died of a brain aneurism. Morrison Polide were assisted by the Whiteside County Coroner and the Whiteside County Sheriff's Office. On 1-16-04, at approximately 9:37 pm, Morrison Police were called to the scene of a hit and run accident near the intersection of West Lincolnway and North Base Street. A car driven by Andrea B. Given, Morrison, was exiting the parking lot of Hardees, when the Given vehicle struck a vehicle driven by Justice P. Pierce, 18, of Erie, Illinois. There were no injuries. Shortly after leaving the scene, Given was stopped at the intersection of Crosby Road and Damen Road. Given was charged with driving while under the influence of an alcoholic beverage, illegal transportation of an alcoholic beverage, and leaving the scene of a property damage accident. Given was subsequently relesed on a notice to appear in court. Given is considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. The crash resulted in damages to the vehicles exceeding $500. On 1-16-14, at approximately 5:05 pm, Morrison Police investivated a two vehicle accident at the intersection of Orange Street and the Union Pacific Railroad Crossing. A car driven by Jeramie M. Patterson, 20, Morrison, was southbound on Orange Street, when the Patterson vehicle struck a sport utility vehicle driven by Amber L. Howard, 35, Morrison. There were no injuries. The crash resulted in damages exceeding $500. Patterson was subsequently cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. Patterson is considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. On 1-17-04, at approximately 10:00pm, Steve P. Wilkens, Morrison, reported that a window at his residence (205 East Park Street) had been damaged by an air rifle pellet.
