Yearlings Down Comets

The Morrison Freshman boys basketball team traveled to Sterling on the morning of December 13 to compete against the Newman Comets in another double header A / B game.

The young Mustangs came out of the gate galloping, but some early foul trouble put them behind by 2 going into the half. However a third quarter 19 to 1 surge led by a smothering full court defense put them ahead for the remainder en route to a 57 to 39 win. Coaches Stralow and Ottens were pleased with a week of much better ball handling resulting in half of the teams average turnovers. The B game ended in an exciting double overtime win with Morrison clenching it with free throws and a last second steel. The Yearlings are now 2-1 and will face Sterling on December 17.
