Sophomore Fillies lose to Newman

The Sophomores Fillies lose to Newman by three Thursday in a close game. The girls showed a big improvement from the last time these two teams met in the NEW-MOR-ROC-STER-VALLEY.

The first quarter Morrison played catch-up after missing their first three from the field. Katie Tenboer kept the Fillies in the game with two from the field and one from the line.

The second belonged to Newman. Heather Anderson helped the Fillies by hitting two of four from the field. The Fillies finished the half with fifteen, Newman nineteen.

In the third Morrison played tough defense and held Newman to eight points. Kelly Tenboer and Jodi Medendorp each had one from the field and Heather Anderson added two more.

Newman ran the clock well in the fourth but only scored four. Morrison shot three for five in the fourth, but that was not enough.

Heather Anderson had a season high of ten, two rebounds, one steal and one assist. Katie Tenboer had nine, eight rebounds, two steals, and went one for two from the line. Kelly Tenboer had five, one steel, and two rebounds. Jodi Medendorp had two and eight rebounds. Emily Brinks had two and one rebound.
