Ponies Lose to Storm

On Friday, December 5, the Morrison Fresh-Soph Ponies traveled to Bureau Valley to take on their counterparts.

The locals had a very difficult time figuring out the quick Storm full-court press. As a result, the Ponies fell behind early and trailed at the end of the first quarter by a score of 21-4. The second quarter proved to be more of the same, and the locals went into the halftime locker room trailing 38-10.

In the second half, the Ponies attempt to catch up proved to be unsuccessful. The end result was a score of 63-21 in favor of the Bureau Valley squad.

The Ponies were outrebounded in the contest 35-20. They hit on 2 of 11 free throw attempts, and shot 9 of 39 from the field.

Chris Scott, Austin Rickels, and Trevor Popkin led in scoring with 4 points each. Nick Vandermyde and Popkin had 4 rebounds each.

The next contest for the Ponies is at Newman on December 11 at 6:00 p.m. Please come out and support the youth in our community.
