Pee Wee Team Plays Hard!

"They played their hearts out – 100%," according to coach Bill Onken of the Pee Wee team. Wednesday they traveled to Park Ridge, Illinois, to play the Leydon Bears.

With two busses of players, fans, and family, they took off to be stopped by a flat tire on one of the busses. After moving all the players and as many others as they could onto the other bus, they took off down the road. The other bus arrived just in time for the 7:00 pm game. A two-three day rain had soaked the field. "It worked to our advantage," according to Coach Onken, "It slowed them down." The Leydon team had a much larger 9-11 and some 12 year olds compared to Morrison’s 9-10 year olds. The final score was a very proud 0-25. "It was a good experience for the kids," expressed the Coach. "They are ready to move up to 5th Grade Football."
