Although outnumbered again about 18 to 7, the Fillies Swim Team won 10 of 11 events on their way to an 87 to 76 win Thursday night, September 25, at Morrison High School pool.
In the first event Megan Tenboer, Rachel Fedyk, Amanda Smith, and Lindsey Smith won the 200-Medley Relay in a time of 2:09.31. In the second event of the night Fedyk won the 200-Freestyle in 2:11.26, while teammate L. Smith finished 2nd in 2:20.79.
In the 200 Individual Medley, Tenboer picked up 1st place in 2:36.19 and Ann Schaefer finished 3rd in the event in 3:00.21. A. Smith won the 50-yard Freesyle in 26.24 and teammate Katie Kuehl picked up 3rd in a time of 32.56. A. Smith also won the 100-yard Butterfly in 1:06.63.
Fedyk and Michelle Bos placed 1st and 2nd respectively in the 100-yard Freestyle in 1:00.25 and 1:09.35. In the 50-yard Freestyle Freshman Lindsey Smith won the event in a time of 6:09.99 while Katie placed 3rd in 7:11.53.
The 200 Freestyle Relay team of A. Smith, Schaefer, Tenboer, and Fedyk won the event in a time of 1:57.94.
Tenboer won her second event of the night in the 100-yard backstroke in a time of 1:13.00, while teammate Bos finished 4th in 1:20.10. Next Schaefer won the 100-yard breaststroke in a time of 1:26.39.
The 400 Freesyle Relay was the only event in the meet the Fillies did not win, but L. Smith, Kuehl, Schaefer, and Bos did a fine job finishing 2nd in a time of 4:44.90.
The Fillies next meet is October 9 in a dual at and against Moline High School.
