Fillies Lose Close one to Davenport North |
| This year’s Morrison Fillies Swim Team got about as much out of their seven swimmers as possible as they won 9 of 12 events, all three relays and were only beaten by 1 point by their 26-team Davenport North opponents in the Davenport pool on Thursday night, September 4, 2003.
Megan Tenboer, Rachel Fedyk, Amanda Smith and Ann Schaefer started the night off with a win in the 200-medley relay in a time of 2:04.95. Then Amanda Smith won the next event while Michelle Bos grabbed a fourth in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2:05.45 and 2:33.24 respectively. Rachel Fedyk and Lindsey Smith won the first of two 1st and 2nd place finishes in the 200 individual medley with times of 2:24.74 and 2:38.89 respectively. Next Katie Kuehl picked up a 4th place finish in the 50-yard free in a personal best time of 31.80. The Fillies sister duo of Amanda and Lindsey Smith won the other 1st-2nd finish in the 100-yard butterfly in respective times of 1:06.00 and 1:12.51. Rachel Fedyk picked up her other win in the 100-Yard freestyle in a time of 56.94. In the 500 freestyle Megan Tenboer won the event in a time of 6:14.31 with teammate Katie Kuehl finishing 5th in a 7:07.88 time. The Fillies then won their second of what would become all three relay victories on the night with Amanda Smith, Ann Schaefer, Lindsey Smith and Rachel Fedyk winning the 200 freestyle relay in a time of 1:52.00. Megan Tenboer then won the 100 back in a time of 1:14.14, while teammate Michelle Bos picked up a 3rd in a time of 1:22.32. Ann Schaefer picked up a 3rd in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:25.46. To round out the scoring and the meet the Fillies’ Lindsey Smith, Michelle Bos, Megan Tenboer and Ann Schaefer won the 400 freestyle relays in a time of 4:36.88. Rachel Fedyk, Amanda Smith, Megan Tenboer were part of four 1st place finishes for the Fillies, with Lindsey Smith and Ann Schaefer playing a part in two 1st place finishes while Michelle Bos was part of one 1st place finishing relay teams. by benson |
