Morrison Wrestlers take 4th at Morrison Invite

Saturday, December 13, 2003, Morrison hosted a large wrestling meet with 9 teams from all over the region attending. This is the biggest tournament Morrison has for wrestling. They always fare well in this meet, especially considering the great contrast in team size that is shown at the meet.

This year, it was Lena-Winslow who came out on top overall with 176 points. Following them were Ashton-Franklin Center in second with 145 points, and then Fulton, with 105 points rounding out the top three. Morrison came in fourth, followed by Pleasant Valley J.V., Rockford Christian Life, Mendota, Clinton J.V., and finally Morrison’s J.V.

Individually, Morrison did well, highlighted by Tom Drosopoulos’s win in the 130lb class. Will Sedig took 2nd in his class, as did James Steinhaus and Andrew Holt. Morrison had many 3rd and 4th place winners as well, including Greg Hanson and Eli Gravert with third places, and Drew Hall, Brad Eissens, Charles Bull, and Jed Renkes all taking fourth place positions.

The next meets for Morrison are against Riverdale on the 18th and the Erie Invitational on the 20th.
