Heritage Canyon Raffle |
|
| The Raffle for a one-night stay for two people in your choice of the 1860’s House or the Log Cabin at Heritage Canyon, 515 North 4th Street Fulton, Illinois, will end with the drawing on January 11th, 2004 but there is still time to purchase tickets. Have you ever visited Heritage Canyon and wished you could experience what it was like to live in a log cabin as the pioneers did during the 1840’s? Or would you like to step back into the 1860’s and encounter the world as it was during the Civil War era in the Mid-west? Heritage Canyon Foundation and The Early American Crafters are offering you a chance to spend one rustic night, for two people (at least one must be an adult over 21), in your choice of either the Log Cabin or the 1860’s House with the dates being negotiable. This will be an authentic night and will include sleeping on the rope spring bed at the Log Cabin or on one of the metal spring type beds of the 1860’s house; the use of a chamber pot (or a portable suitcase camping potty if you prefer) or the “necessary room” in the Canyon; no showers but a nice warm water spit bath; no electricity but the warm glow of lantern light; and warmth, if needed, will be furnished by a crackling fire or the downy comfort of quilts. Your night’s stay will also includes two meals, supper and breakfast, with a choice of menus. We will help you cook them yourself over the open fire or wood cook stove or will prepare and serve them for you. And if you desire, we will teach you about the life style of the era you have chosen. This will be a true historic experience for the lucky persons who win the raffle. The tickets are a $5 donation each. Winners will be notified after the drawing in January and will be allowed to make arrangements then for a date between April 1st and October 1st 2004. Perhaps you would like to spend your anniversary or birthday at Heritage Canyon or maybe your wedding night in conjunction with your wedding in the small Country Church at the Canyon. Tickets can be purchased at Heritage Canyon during office hours. Please call ahead at 815-589-2838 (leave a message if necessary) or contact any Early American Crafter. by Editor, theCity1.com |
