What will 2004 bring? |
| What will 2004 bring for TheCity1.com? I’m sure there will be more stories about the people of Morrison. I would also like to expand it to include some of our “Golden Companies”, companies that have been in business for 50 years. The history of Morrison has always fascinated me and I already have plans to interview one of our older citizens, so you will see more history stories in the new year. I’m always open to suggestions for interesting people to interview. They are usually fascinating stories. Plans are also in the works to speed up our site. Two areas have already been redesigned and a third is in the works that will change the speed with which the main page loads. You will see some minor design changes but the meat of the site won’t change. With the price of newspaper advertising in the area taking a jump, we are an inexpensive alternative. Our market is continually growing and advertising, like any other media, is what continues to keep this Web site running. So for the new year we hope to get more area businesses to see our advertising potential. More contests and prizes are being planned like the Elf Hunt Game. Businesses and participants mutually enjoyed the contest. We’re hoping to include a game for kids too. For the past several months I have been working on an election Web page. This will help with candidate selection for the March primaries and then again for the November election. I have included Web sites for not only the candidates but also political sites. I’d like you to see TheCity1.com as Morrison’s magazine. When you read a magazine you want more information than a daily or weekly paper gives you, so sometimes our articles will be longer but hopefully worth your time to read. Thanks for “clicking on” TheCity1.com in 2003 and we look forward to serving the families and friends of Morrison in 2004. by Barb Benson, theCity1.com |
