Bunt and Wolf Make IMEA All-State Band

Merrie Bunt and Dana Wolf will travel to Peoria in January for the IMEA All-State Conference.

“For a school our size, you would expect us to send a student to IMEA all-state band once every few years. But Morrison consistently sends multiple students every year,” boasted Morrison Band director, David Bean. Bean has sent 2-8 students every year for the last ten years.

This year Morrison High School sent nine band members and thirteen chorus members to Sterling to try-out for district IMEA. Five students made the district band at NIU but only two made the 1000 piece All-State conference.

Dana Wolf and Merrie Bunt will be traveling to Peoria on January 28-31, 2004 to play in the All-State band. Both Wolf and Bunt play side-by-side in the French horn section. It is the first time for both students. Wolf has worked hard for this honor and expects it to be “fun”. Bunt was “surprised by the honor” but was glad all the hard work was paying off.
