Christmas Walk Winners

Winning Wheels' Float "Ruduloph the Red Nosed Reindeer and the Misfit Toys" won Best of Show in the 2003 Morrison Christmas Walk Parade.

Friday morning Morrison residents woke up to snow on the ground but drizzle was all the weather could manage during the traditional Christmas Walk and Parade. Hostesses Phyllis Fell and Pat Gibbs lead the parade by the crowds of area residents that braved the elements.

Best of Show for the parade went to the Winning Wheels float “Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer and the Island of Misfit Toys” a crowd favorite. First place was given to Metro Bank’s Float, “The Night before Christmas”. “Bookin’ It”, the Quad City Libraries Book Cart Drill Team, was new to the parade and won Second Place. Third place went to Sullivan’s Snowman and sledding hill float.

The winning Live Window went to Clockwork Realty where children were making gingerbread houses. Stephanie Deckro Interiors won best Tree Decorating. The best Still Life Window was Ken Kophamer Realty’s Snowmen.

The Decorated Sled competition was won by the Cookie Sled 1st, Let it Snow 2nd, Small Sled 3rd. The White Stocking with Toes won 1st in the Stocking Contest, Red Ho’ Ho’ Ho’ won 2nd and Nancy won 3rd.

The real winners were those that came off the street to listen to the Madrigals, Southside Recorders, the Brass Quintet (minus 2), and the Barbershop Chorus. Or those that climbed to the third floor to watch LeAnn’s Dancers.
