MHS Key Club Fills Food Pantry

Students load boxes of food pantry items into a truck.

Morrison High School Key Club challenged 1st hour A-Day classes to bring in donations for the Morrison Food Pantry. Point values were placed on items. The class with the most points along with anyone who donated 100 points won a buffet dinner donated by area restaurants.

Scott Rickels’ class won the competition with the most points for donated items. A full-sized pick-up truck, a van, 2 cars, and an SUV were used to move all the food from the high school to the food pantry after school on Monday. They had 12 Key Clubbers load and sort the food into the pantry.

Phyllis Fell, chairman of the Morrison Food Panty, said, “I’m thrilled and amazed at what they brought. The boxes just kept coming. We’re overflowed with items for the holiday season.”
