Blue Goose Run has Grand Opening


Cheryl, Vera, Elisa, and Kurt Stutzke cut three ribbons from Morrison, Sterling, and Rock Falls Chambers of Commerce. Blue Goose Run is celebrating their Grand Opening this week.

This week marks the Grand Opening of the Blue Goose Run. Home for the past three years of the Illinois Corn Maze, Blue Goose Run is now fully operational. A Gift Shop, Vineyard, and Corn Crib Restaurant round out the offerings at Blue Goose Run.

Executive Chef Larry Loots, a native of Clinton, Iowa, and a Whiteside County resident, comes to Blue Goose Run after very successful engagements at resorts in Louisiana, Florida, North Carolina, Euro Disney-Paris, Disney World – Orlando, Harvey’s Casino – Council Bluff, the Grand Harbor Resort – Dubuque and as Regional Training Chef for Marriott – South East Region.

The Corn Crib Restaurant is open Tuesday – Saturday from 5 pm to 9 pm and Sunday from 9 am to 2 pm. Thursday evening is Karaoke night and Fridays they have a jazz band. Reservations for dinner or brunch are appreciated by calling 815-772-7200.

They are currently booking Garden Weddings in their 3-1/2 acre formal garden with pond, wedding receptions in the Corn Crib Restaurant, Machine Shed Pavilion, or Cathedral Windowed White Tent. Wedding Packages are available.

Vera Stutzke, and children Kurt and Cheryl Stutzke own Blue Goose Run. It is located ¼ mile north of Rt. 30 on Blue Goose Road midway between Rock Falls and Morrison.
