| Morrison will celebrate “Christmas Traditions” at this year’s Christmas Parade and Walk. Christmas Walk hostesses, Phyllis Fell and Pat Gibbs, will be at Community State Bank after the parade and the Morrison Kiwanis will be serving refreshments. Sinterklaas will also be visiting the bank. The Madrigals and a High School brass quartet will be performing at the bank after the parade. Later the Rock River Valley Barbershop Chorus will perform at 7:30 pm. Suppers begin at 4:30 pm at local churches. Baked potato and dessert bar will be served at the Methodist Church on Lincolnway. St. Anne’s on Cherry Street will cooking a soup supper and have a choice of seafood gumbo, potato, or vegetable soup. The Presbyterian Church on Lincolnway will also serve vegetable soup, salad, roll, dessert and drink. Chili, chips, and homemade pie are on the menu at Brethren in Christ on Knox Street. The parade begins at 6:00 pm. Santa and Mrs. Claus will arrive in the parade and Santa will be taking children’s requests at their cottage on Main Street by Hardees. Sterling Federal Bank will be sponsoring Kettle Korn and horse and wagon rides will go up and down the street. Warming stations along the walk will be at the Morrison Fire Department as well as Wells Fargo, Community State, and Metro Banks. Each station will also have entertainment. Look for the sled and Christmas stocking decorating contest in downtown businesses along with decorated window displays. Wells Fargo Bank will have the Barbershop Chorus after the parade, followed by the Madrigals at 7:15, and High School Brass Quartets around 7:40. Jennifer’s Dance Studio at 105 W. Main will start performances at 6:00 pm and will have performances every half hour. LeAnn’s Dance Connection on the third floor of 110-1/2 E. Main will also have dance performances every 5 minutes starting at 6:30 with the Preschool classes followed by Kindergarten, Grade 1 and the remaining classes. Intermediate and Advanced Classes will close out the night after 7:00 pm. Cookies, hot chocolate, and cider will be served. This is Le Ann Schaefer’s first year with the studio. Madrigals will also be singing at the new Gazette Office at 7:45. Mrs. Perrizo’s Southside Recorder group will be performing at the Odell Historical Museum.
