World History Inventions Project

Sewing Machine Invention by Meredith Oostenryke of Tim Shurman's 7th Grade World History Class.

For the last fourteen years Tim Shurman, Morrison’s Junior High 7th grade World History teacher, has been doing a project for his Industrial Revolution unit. Students must pick an invention from 1700 – 1920. They must research the invention and its impact on modern life. Then they must make a replica of the invention.

“The kids enjoy it,” according to Sherman. The projects that are a higher quality or meet the standards are displayed in the Junior High Library. Over half the projects are displayed there. Projects include telephones, a hot air balloon, trains, and much more.
