Motivational Speakers

I went to a 4-H leaders conference last weekend and met other leaders from Missouri, Wisconsin, Iowa, Ohio, Canada, and many other states. We had individual workshops then met for meals and a speaker. Every meal I tried to find someone from a different state to share experiences.

I think the best part of the conference was the speakers. After telling my children about them, they said some of the same speakers had come to their school. Most were motivational speaker from Illinois.

I laughed so hard at all the speakers, but especially the hypnotist. I’ve never seen one before, but it was hilarious. He had the participants on stage putting on suntan lotion while they basked in the sun and seconds later they were freezing and pulling their sleeves down. There was one pretty little woman that went under much deeper and she was a stitch to watch. Especially when she was told the person next to her smelled really bad. Minutes later that same person smelled so good that she couldn’t stop smelling her.

Meals were in a huge banquet room with around 500 people in it. The first day I heard a few cell phones go off in the back of the room but then people remember to be courteous and either turn them off or put them to “manner mode” like I had. The last speaker of the conference was Sam Glenn, a motivational speaker from Illinois. He was telling stories that kept the crowd laughing. He explained how to have a healthy attitude. One of the stories he told was when he was in Ohare picking up his luggage and a suitcase came out that had fallen open and the handlers had taped underwear to the outside. When the suitcase came close, he knew it was his. He waited until everyone had picked up their luggage but no one was leaving. Finally he picked up the suitcase with a big grin as every broke out into laughter. Well anyway, he was telling his last story and the room was quiet as he built to his ending. Suddenly a cell phone went off way in the back of the room. Glenn didn’t miss a beat when he looked out into the audience and said, “That better be God.” The audience exploded in laughter.

If you need a motivation speaker for an event I would highly recommend all the speakers at the conference.
