9 College Reps Coming to MHS |
| Students should check out the new November calendar listings outside my guidance office. There are 9 college representatives coming this month to visit with students during the homeroom period. You can gain a lot of helpful information for college planning from these reps, even if you do not plan on attending their institution. They always welcome students with questions and those who just want to "sit in". Many colleges provide "open house" and special visit days for potential students. Tuesday November 11th is popular. See me for dates available. Please remember that parents must come to the high school to fill out a planned absence form three days in advance of the event. Copies of Illinois Forward magazine, a guide to your future after high school, are available at my table in the cafeteria. New additions to the scholarship binder: U.S. Bank, American Legion, People to People Eisenhower Scholarship, and Dixon Garden Club Interested students should ask me for details about the following opportunities: The National High School Oratorical Contest, The Illinois Science & Humanities Symposium, the Hugh O'Brien Youth Leadership Seminar for sophomores, the ARI Essay contests, and the Summer Exploratory Camp Portfolio for art and design. by Patrice Johannsen, Guest Columnist |
