Clinton Symphony Performs Oct. 25

Clinton Symphony Orchestra is beginning their 50th season on Saturday, October 25 with their season’s first concert beginning at 8:00 pm. The concert will take place at Zion Lutheran Church, Clinton, Iowa and Principal Conductor for this concert will be Steven Zike.

If you have never experienced the symphony, this is a rare treat. The featured performer for the evening will be Fulton’s Mark Kupusinski, a popular bass-baritone. Local Morrison residents also perform with the orchestra including Morrison School’s band director, Dave Bean as the Principal Clarinetist, and former MJHS instructor, Larry Olsen, as the Principal Trumpet. Carolyn Aiken also plays trumpet. Clarinetist Don Jevne has also been a member of the orchestra.

The evening’s opening piece will be a spirited Fall Fair by Canadian composer Godfrey Ridout. Music performed will range from oratorios to Broadway music. Mendelssohn’s Symphony No. 5, Beethoven’s Egmont Overture, Samuel Barber’s Adagio for Strings and Grieg’s Peer Gynt Suite No.1.

Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for students, and $25 for families and are available in Morrison at Fitzgerald Pharmacy. Season tickets are also available.
